A new lawn? Fast rooting is crucial.

Are you planning to install a new lawn ? Will you be using grass seed or instant turf (turf grass rolls)? In both cases, fast rooting is crucial! Phosphorus plays an essential role in this context. But sometimes, young roots have difficulty absorbing phosphate from the soil. We offer you the solution to this problem.

Fast results when seeding

The faster the seeds germinate and take root, the faster the lawn will become denser and ready for use. Easily absorbable phosphorus is important for good rooting. But sometimes, roots have difficulty absorbing phosphate from the soil due to soil structure problems or a too high pH-value. DCM VIVIFOS®, a product with a high phosphorus content, solves this problem. Germination will be much faster and the lawn will become denser more quickly, even when overseeding damaged areas in a lawn or sports field.

The easily absorbable phosphorous contained in DCM VIVIFOS® also ensures faster rooting of ready-to-use lawn rolls. The phosphorous is released gradually and continuously over several weeks, even in soils having a high pH. This means that the grass can continue to absorb phosphorous without any problems. It will root more easily and more quickly. The result? A lawn that quickly adheres to the soil and immediately starts growing.

In practice

In a trial with turf rolls, rooting was evaluated one week after laying the turf. The lawn having received DCM VIVIFOS® clearly showed the highest root concentration. More power was needed to lift up this lawn ; the roots had already attached themselves much better to the subsoil. After washing, the roots of the lawn having received DCM VIVIFOS® turned out to be noticeably longer and more developed.

In practice

In a trial with DCM VIVIFOS® as a maintenance fertiliser, the test field that received DCM VIVIFOS® (photo on the far right) showed higher grass growth, higher density and better colour than the field having received another mineral P fertiliser 1.5 months after installation. In addition, more roots were observed in the soil.
